Leon Logothetis, a British author, philanthropist, global adventurer and inspirational speaker, promised to live a life empowering others. But something stood in his way.

“I felt emotionally and spiritually bankrupt,” he said.

From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Logothetis was a broker in London, but he gave it up after feeling radically influenced by Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s memoir, “The Motorcycle Diaries,” which documents the infamous Marxist revolutionary’s 1952 expedition across South America.

This aha moment led to a worldwide journey in 2013 for Mr. Logothetis on a yellow motorbike called Kindness One. His experiences have been captured in a 13-part Netflix documentary series — streaming now — called “The Kindness Diaries,” in which he traded random acts of kindness for food, shelter and company as he met strangers on the road.
